Sick & Tired

A friend of mine recently shared a scripture verse on Facebook that I think might be the coolest verse in the Message version of the Bible:

God’s love is meteoric,
his loyalty astronomic,
His purpose titanic,
his verdicts oceanic.
Yet in his largeness
nothing gets lost;
Not a man, not a mouse,
slips through the cracks.
How exquisite your love, O God!
How eager we are to run under your wings,
To eat our fill at the banquet you spread
as you fill our tankards with Eden spring water.
You’re a fountain of cascading light.

– Psalm 36:5-9 MSG

As I write this post, I am currently sick at home fighting a bad chest infection (Thankfully it’s not COVID-19 as I tested negative). Point is I am sick. And I am tired. In fact, to be honest I’m sick and tired.

Sick and tired of this pandemic.
Sick and tired of not being able to gather physically as the church.
Sick and tired of the division and hate I see out there in the world.
Sick and tired…

And yet, the scripture above reminds me that even in the midst of all that is going on around me, for God nothing is lost. Not a man, not a mouse. It reminds me that his love is exquisite, unending, and unfailing. His loyalty to us is astronomic.

And so my prayer for you and for me today is that He would fill our lives with “spring water”, that He would fill our tables with daily bread, and that we would find shelter under His wings.

Prayers for you and your family in this season.

  1. I’m glad to hear that an eternal optimist like you also get Sick & Tiered, it makes me feel a bit more optimistic about being Sick & Tiered myself.

I’m so Sick & Tiered that Corona doesn’t even want to come near me in of fear getting Sick & Tiered to.

But below is a few things I’m sick & tiered of.

    1. Sick & tiered of studying Theology.

    1. Sick & Tiered of taking medication six times a day

    1. Sick & Tiered of not finding purpose doing some insignificant job that pays an insignificant salary but I love it.

    1. Sick & tiered of not drawing the line, stop studying and spend that time on the beach surfing or making videos of those who know how to surf.

That’s four to start with, maybe I should make a point of attending to them next week.

I pray for you and you pray for me, sounds like a good place to start too.

    Kind Regards & Blessings,
